There was a fire at the Big Meadows area of Shenandoah National Park. A tree, that I am sure that was there since my childhood, was burnt along with the wild blueberry bushes that populate the meadow. The meadow seemed to be spouting anew - but sadly, one of the few trees in the meadow perished. Our family visited Big Meadows many times as I was growing up, and I have many fond memories of this area.
